Membership Overview
The FPD and flexible microelectronic industries drive the work and mission of the U.S. Display Consortium. USDC is committed to supporting our member companies in building a world-class display and flexible microelectronics industry.
USDC members are display manufacturers, developers, and suppliers who take an active interest in the development of the display manufacturing supply chain and the promotion of displays in electronic applications.
Member companies set the technical direction for USDC research and development projects. Information and results gathered from these projects are shared with USDC member companies to further advance their technological capabilities and subsequently advance the entire industry.
Levels of Membership
Display manufacturers and developers join at this level to be involved with final decisions on policy, program content and disposition of government funds available to the consortium to sponsor R&D Projects. The Governing Board meets 4 times per year to discuss USDC business. Each member has one vote on the board, and has a site license to all USDC documentation. Governing Board members also participate in the Technical Council which helps administer the USDC technical program. This membership category is for U.S. owned companies.
Global, non-U.S.-based companies are welcome in USDC. Associate members join the Governing Board and have a vote on all policy decisions regarding USDC activities, as well as a voice in infrastructure projects through representation on the Technical Council. A site license to all USDC documentation is included at this membership level. Associate Members are not eligible to receive USDC funding for technical projects.
This membership category is for display manufacturers and/or developers who wish to participate in the USDC Technical Council and are U.S. owned. Members in this category participate in the USDC technical program by identifying priority projects, approving RFPs, identifying useful study topics, and administering government funds for selected projects. A site license to all USDC documentation is included at this membership level. General Members are also represented at the Governing Board through the election of one representative for each 4 General Members. Because General Members directly participate in selecting R&D programs for funding, they are not eligible to receive USDC funding for technical projects.
This group is made up of suppliers of equipment, materials and services to the display manufacturing industry. A site license to all USDC documentation is included at this membership level. Sustaining Members are eligible to present R&D project proposals to the USDC Technical Council and to receive USDC directed federal funding. This membership category is for US and internationally owned businesses.
The MAUG consists of companies who believe that by solving common issues they are strengthening their competitive positions in the markets that they serve. The MAUG meets each quarter to identify technical projects to be funded through USDC contracts and to share in the results of those efforts. MAUG Members are eligible to present R & D project proposals to USDC and to receive USDC directed federal funding. A site license to all USDC documentation is included at this membership level. MAUG Members are also represented at the Governing Board through the election of one representative for the group.
The CUG is not currently active. If you would like to discuss the formation of a CUG for your technology area (e.g., projection displays, high information content, or 3D displays), please contact USDC.
