USDC UNVEILS FORMAL AGENDA FOR UPCOMING SAN FRANCISCO DISPLAY TECHNOLOGY INVESTMENT CONFERENCE
Texas Instruments’ DLP TV Division Manager, John Reder, To Deliver Luncheon Keynote Address
SAN JOSE , Calif. , September 8, 2004- The U.S. Display Consortium (USDC), a private/public partnership chartered with developing the electronic display industry supply chain, today revealed the formal agenda for its Display Technology Investment Conference to be held in San Francisco on September 23, 2004 . Co-sponsored by WR Hambrecht + Co, the conference program includes presentations by senior executives from leading publicly traded companies within the flat panel display sector. Specifically, the conference will educate participants from prominent investment firms, brokerages, research houses and related financial institutions on the latest advancements, trends and business strategies associated with one of today’s fastest growing technology sectors.
Keynote Addresses
Joe Virginia, vice president of sales and marketing for Samsung Electronics’ LCD Business, Americas Region, will kick off the conference with his keynote address. Titled, “TFT-LCD—Dynamic Growth Opportunities”, Virginia’s presentation will provide insights into Samsung’s outlook for TFT-LCD supply/demand dynamics, as well as the market opportunities and development trends for notebook PC, desktop monitor and LCD TV applications, from both a business and technology perspective.
During the luncheon, Texas Instruments’ John Reder, manager of TI’s DLP TVs division, will give a keynote address, titled, “DLP TV-Why, When & How Many?”. This keynote will highlight the momentum of DLP TVs in the consumer electronics market, and why six out the top nine television manufacturers have chosen to integrate DLP technologyinto their projection televisions. Reder's presentation will also discuss the advantages of DLP technology, its customers and applications,and provide insight into market trends and forecasts for DLP products.
