DUPONT TO DELIVER KEYNOTE ADDRESS AT U.S. DISPLAY CONSORTIUM'S 7TH ANNUAL INVESTORS CONFERENCE

Heightened Investor Interest Expected as Display Industry
Shares Prices Beat Leading Market Indicators

SAN JOSE, Calif., - The U.S. Display Consortium (USDC), a public-private partnership supporting the electronic display industry, announced today that Diane Gulyas, group vice president for the Electronic and Communication Technologies of DuPont (DD), will deliver the keynote address at USDC's 7th Annual Display Industry Investors Conference. Participation by DuPont in this conference during its 200th anniversary year reflects the corporation's commitment to the display industry. This year's conference returns to the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City on April 24, 2002, with investment banking firms CIBC World Markets and Needham & Company as sponsors. The complete agenda for the USDC Investors Conference can be found at http://www.usdc.org.

"Display companies are a very bright spot in the technology sector, as evidenced by their ability to beat major indexes, such as the NASDAQ Composite, S&P500 and the Russell 2002," stated Jim Ricchiuti, Vice President of Needham & Company. "Consequently, investors are becoming increasingly attracted to this investment space," he added. Flat panel displays (FPDs) are found in many applications, ranging from desktop and home computing to viewfinders in digital cameras. Most industry analysts expect the pull of new home entertainment systems and 3G wireless products to greatly increase FPD demand. [Editorial Note: See attached chart of display stock prices v. major market indexes.]

DuPont is targeting the display market through DuPont Display Technologies, a business unit of DuPont Electronic and Communication Technologies. Based on its core competencies in polymer science, DuPont is building the capability to develop displays that will meet the performance and cost demands of the fast-paced information technology industry. Intent on leading the way to market for OLEDs, considered highly promising due to their bright colors, fast response times and ultra-thin construction, the Displays business unit has also been a trailblazer in redefining the way the DuPont corporation does business.

Ms. Diane Gulyas joined DuPont in 1978 and spent her first ten years in a variety of sales, marketing, technical and systems development positions primarily in the DuPont Polymers business. Since 1994 she has held two positions as global business director - Nylon Fibers New Business Development and Global Zytel® Engineering Polymers. Most recently, she was VP-GM for the Advanced Fibers Systems business for DuPont, a billion dollar enterprise that includes Kevlar® and Nomex®. Gulyas has a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and completed the Advanced Management Program at Wharton in 1994.

According to market research firm, DisplaySearch, flat-panel display revenues will reach $49.3 billion in 2005, a compound annual growth rate of 21% from $22.5 billion in 2001.
