Leading Executives from Today’s Most Innovative Companies
Offer Financial Community Unique Insights
into the
Display Industry
San Jose, CA, Januray 30, 2006 -- The U.S. Display Consortium (USDC), a public/private partnership chartered with developing the flat panel display (FPD) industry infrastructure, today announced its Display Industry Investment Conference will return for the eleventh year on Wednesday, March 15, 2006 to New York City. Co-hosted by Needham & Company, LLC, a nationally recognized investment banking and asset management firm, this conference will provide in-depth looks at the wide variety of markets and technologies being pursued by the public and privately held companies involved in the electronic display industry.
The Display Industry Investment Conference is the longest running forum of its kind focused on educating investment firms, brokerages, venture capitalists, research houses and other related financial institutions on the latest advancements, trends and business strategies associated with today’s display industry. This year’s conference will bring together, in one location, many of the fastest growing companies dedicated to end-use applications such as digital cameras, TVs, signage and dashboards, as well as representatives from the extensive supply chain infrastructure behind these technologies—including organic and flexible displays, materials, manufacturing equipment and electronics companies.
“The USDC conference provides the financial community with access to some of the leading figures from all facets of the burgeoning display industry,” said USDC President Michael Ciesinski. “During the past decade, our industry has gone through notable growth and changes. The next ten years are likely to witness a similar breakneck pace of transformation and opportunities. Offering a venue for investors, technologists and industry leaders to come together and gain an understanding of the trends that have shaped this growing industry and those that will shape it in the future, this conference will only grow with importance as our complex industry further evolves,” he concluded.
Scheduled to feature more than twenty (20) corporate presen-tations and five (5) ”Ask-The-Expert” sessions, researchers and industry participants will be on hand to cover many aspects of the display business, including new trends in digital signage, automobile and mobile applications markets. A bonus session will be delivered by Dieter Schroth, director of the liquid crystals (LC) business for EMD Chemicals, the North American affiliate of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt. He will provide an inside look at why and how Merck KGaA, with 100 years of liquid crystal experience, is making significant investments in the plastic microelectronics realm.
Corporate presentations scheduled thus far include Applied Films Corporation, Barco, Corning, CDT, Daktronics, eMagin, Genesis Microchip, Orbotech, Photon Dynamics, Syntax-Brillian, Trident Microsystems and Universal Display Corporation, among others.
“ Needham is pleased to present this conference to the investment community,” stated Jim Ricchiuti, senior analyst. “The display market incorporates a wide variety of products from small applications through television and home and commercial theaters. Investors will gain significant insights from the keynotes, the presenting companies, as well as from the analyst sessions.”
USDC’s Display Industry Investment Conference will be held at the Millennium Hotel in New York City on Wednesday, March 15, 2006.
