This Summer 2007 issue of DisplayTrends covers a wide variety of topics in the display industry and in the emerging industry of flexible electronics. Darice Liu, a research analyst with Maxim Group LLC and a first-time contributor to DisplayTrends, provides commentary on recent product introductions from LCD and OLED developers and manufacturers. Highlights of a USDC-sponsored briefing for the venture capital community on flexible electronics are captured by Kay Mascoli of USDC. Also, we announce changes to our annual Flexible Electronics and Displays Conference & Exhibition.

Dr. Mark Hartney joins USDC this summer as our new CTO and a brief summary of his prior accomplishments is included in this issue. Finally, our Executive Q&A session features Dr. Mike McCreary, V-P of R&D for E Ink. The company manufactures electronic ink displays, including those used in Sony’s new E Reader and in Lexar’s Jump Drive Mercury.

DisplayTrends is always looking for new contributors. If you have an article in mind, please contact Stacey Voorhees at svoorhees@mcapr.com

Enjoy the summer!
